I'm off a couple days... if HR looks good I might be able to escape the
house.

Winds are looking a bit W at 286 deg and 13 going to 9 mph by about 1pm.
Also going to 4mph by 4 pm at HR Upper winds look OK and it's gonna be a
nice day either way. Might be better at Woodstock but the road... she's no
dam good. Anyone?? Anyone? Buehler?

I'm going to take some leave this afternoon to try out a new PG at Smithsburg.

It is the Ozone Buzz, yellow/black on a red background.

I'll be there at about 2pm. I might go up to High Rock.

flyin' vs. workin'

Post by mikel »

Well, work was not in the schedule, but
felt as if it would be a good thing, since it
was the floor hockey championships on the "HILL".

Hope the weather gods were favorable to ya'll

'til then, M

Conditions at Smithsburg were worth the long wait. Winds were up to maybe 15 when I arrived at 1:45pm, but they steadily decreased and eventually were almost nil by 4pm. Steve K was there with his PG.

I made about a dozen flights on the new wing ... mostly side-hill landings, moon-walking up the hill, kiting, etc. It is an easy handling wing.

Smithsburg is a bit muddy at the bottom, but not bad on the slope.

The "Cornstalks from Hell" are still in full force ... ask Steve ;)

Also, the farmer has already spread some manure at the top of the hill (none in the launch area ... yet)

I'm planning to do some scooter towing in the lower field (past the corn stalks) soon.
