Good input from all; thanks! Yes; last Sunday I let him fly it under very
controlled conditions and site selection. Even with that it was not working
well. The realization that he had made a big mistake was evident to him by
about the 5 flight. He finally came up to me and had to eat crow, admitting
that he had been wrong and that I had been right all along.

We then prompted him to fly the Falcon 2 225 ( as he has been flying all
along -prior to Sunday ) for his last flight of the day. His launch, flight
and landing were excellent and it was one of the highest and longest flights
of the day, ending in a perfect stand up landing. Not sure if that made him
very happy but.....it was proof positive that the Falcon 225 was the right
choice and the Eagle was not.

At days' end, I told him he had to do some soul searching and that he needed
to advise "me" which direction he wanted to take with this. I had already (
months ago ) strongly voiced my opposition to him purchasing an Eagle, but
as you know he had gone ahead and done it anyway. Knowing that I was
dealing with big, lovable "mule", I figured it ( somewhat ) had to be "his"
decision. I kept my fingers' crossed that he would get back to me with the
right decision. He did.

Last night I received an email from him. He said that he does not want to
fly the Eagle, and wants to continue on my Falcon 225. He proclaimed that
he will begin a serious weight loss program and if he's successful; will
revisit the Eagle in the springtime "if" he gets his weight down to 200 lbs.
Otherwise he will purchase the Falcon 225.

Positvive development regarding the use of good judgement. Sometimes' it
takes the "hot-stove" prinicipal to learn it. Glad to see he made it
himself ( this time ). Now I can get this new H-2 flying again safely and
in the mountains very, very soon.
