Any news about the corn stubble?

Yes, there is still 2' high corn stubble at Smithburg. It shouldn't be a problem as long as you have good flare timing ;) It requires you to flare above the stubble and land without running ... good practice for landing in tall grass.

The real challenge is carrying out of the corn. The basetube contacts the corn stalks about 6" below the tops and gives you a real workout.

We have no idea when the stubble will be rolled up.

We came up with a technique that should work well in winds < 15. It requires two people. Nose into the wind, with one person leading with the keel, and the other holding the basetube at waist level.

Come on out and help us stomp the stubble down. If we get enough people, it shouldn't take long :lol:

Yeah that corn stubble is a workout! We can walk in the rows.Maybe a path off to one side to stay out of flight paths. I'm glad it's open though.The exercise is good too.
