Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group

Post by hang_pilot »

We had an informative discussion on incident site procedures at the CHGPA membership meeting last night from Steve Weiss of the Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group (SMRG). I told Steve that I would post some information on SMRG in case anyone in this forum is interested in either joining or attending their training sessions.

SMRG is a professional volunteer wilderness search and rescue organization. They conduct rescue ops in the wilderness areas of VA, MD, PA, and WV. You can find more information on their website at http://www.smrg.org.

Please note, per Steve:

CHGPA members may register at our web-site. We assume most registrants are interested in joining, and process web-site registration accordingly. But if you just wish on-going access to our training schedule, please send a follow-up note to our webmaster (webmaster@smrg.org) and we will register members as though they were members of another SAR team (not joining, but possibly attending training).
