Hot air balloon festival

Post by garys »

There will be a hot air balloon festival at Longbranch estate just east of Winchester Va. next weekend (Oct. 14th, 15 and 16th) I go every year and hope to get a ride up this year as crew. They usually host over 100 balloons. It is quite a sight to see all of those balloons light up at night during the "glow" in the late evening then actually lift off in the early morning. Check out the details here; http://www.virginia.org/site/descriptio ... =3&MCat=11
They also have a bunch of powered paragliders flying around.

Hi, Gary! Thanks for the tip. Will see how it fits with other
flying plans. (Not insulted by presence of PPGs) - Hugh

I met the guy who runs that festival after landing out near 11 and the
Edinburg gap earlier this season. Really nice guy. Let him know you are a hang
glider pilot if you show up.
