*Help Us Improve the Edith’s Gap LZ!*

The CHGPA board is excited to share the next step in our ongoing efforts to enhance access and safety at Edith’s Gap! As part of our club’s commitment to flight access and safety, we're tackling the first phase of a crucial land-clearing project in the LZ

We've partnered with Massanutten Excavating to clear portions of the existing LZ footprint of trees, the garden area, and the large brush pile. We are in further discussions with the Masons to widen and lengthen the LZ in a follow-up project. Your support will help us:

1. Enhance safety by removing hazardous debris and small-to-medium sized trees.
2. Improve wind flow in the LZ area and expand landing options.
3. Create space for future development.

*Progress in the Works*

This project is just one piece of our broader vision:

- Pulpit Mountain: Upcoming launch slot clearance.
- Daniels Mountain: Forthcoming existing launch slot clearance and expansion of launch area.
- Edith’s Gap LZ - Phase 2 further expansion.

*Budget Breakdown for Edith’s Gap Phase 1*

$ 3,900 needed:

- Excavation services: $ 3,100
- Seeding and straw: $ 800

*How You Can Help*

Any amount members can donate will help offset the club dipping into its reserve funds for this project and the future planned ones at Pulpit and Daniels Mountain. These donations will help us expedite the additional projects we are planning. While we should have enough to cover these projects, the Phase 2 initial estimate at Edith ‘s Gap currently exceeds our reserves. The board is revising our goals with the aim to pursue an improvement that will fall within our budget.

Please add a note/comment the donation is for LZ/Launch Improvements

Thanks for your ongoing support! Together, let's keep Edith’s Gap and our sites thriving!
