High Rock Saturday

Post by Bunkhouse »

Hello all. Steve Krichten asked me to post that he is wanting to fly High Rock Saturday. He talked to the LZ landowner and the field has been mowed.

Fly safe!

High Rock was working nicely today. 3 pilots soared and we had 2 designated wire crew. The old shade pavilion in the LZ is in good shape and the field is cut.

Lot's of impressed wuffoes. I don't think it was brain-dead soarable, but it seemed pretty close. I'm guessing one glider got to 1,000 feet over launch. I mostly saw them only a couple of hundred feet above.

I don't seem to be bright enough to be able to post the photo I took of the three gliders in the set-up area. It's not a great photo. But, if anyone's interested, I've got it.

Fantastic to hear that there was a good High Rock day! I'll try to help wire on the next one.

For the pics: Give me a call David and I'll walk you through it.

Wish I had seen this sooner. Was flying out of Fairfield (sailplanes) but could have made it for an evening HR dive or even just to help out. My Falcon and/or U2 need a workout! Hoping that the activity and interest at HR increases.

Steve Krichten is concerned about a light pole base, that is concreted in, what he thinks is about 5 feet from the steps to launch. I need to get a better look at it and then we'll need to figure something out, if it's a problem for us.

Hi Dave: You just need to shrink them to small web view size. :)

Yeah, looks like I didn't shrink 'em enough. One of your photos looks just like mine, so we're good.

If those bases really are for future poles, one of them will make getting to launch real difficult, but probably not impossible.
