Went to Woodstock Saturday instead of the Pulpit, since not enough interest for the Pulpit. Bulletproof for all at Woodstock Saturday. Only 2 HGers flew (Walt and Allan); the rest were all PGers (at least 10+). I got there just after 4P to find only John Middleton at launch checking his PG. I wasn't feeling it so I saw Walt had landed in the main LZ, called him, and drove his car down to pick him up. It's nice to be able to drive your car into the field right up to your glider. Walt gave Kat and Josh rides back up to the top; we then hit Fox's Pizza in Strasburg for dinner. Good pizza.
Today I showed up at the Pulpit around 10:15A to find nobody home. Started setting up and a torrent of PG pilots showed up. I'd say at least 10. They started launching around 11:30A and the majority of them stuck and climbed out. At least half of them went OTB. Allan showed up somewhere in the middle of the flow. The conditions were light for us HGers on the ramp, so we waited for wire crew. Rich and Walt showed up by 1P. Finally around 2:15P I gave it a go in a very light cycle and sank off of the ramp, gaining airspeed and popping up after planing out. Found nothing and landed in the secondary yet again, to the south. Flared hard but tripped in a rut and belly flopped again! This flop was gentle compared to 2 weeks ago, so the DTs survived w/o any damage. Later Allan had a sledder to the main LZ. By this time the sky was decked over from the influence from the rain migrating NE from the Shenandoah Valley. Looks like another PG day at the Pulpit tomorrow. Bacil
