Late Saturday 3/13

Post by XCanytime »

Looks pretty light at Woodstock and not too strong at the Pulpit. Anybody up for a possible late day flight at the Pulpit? Bacil

I would bet on Woodstock for Saturday and Sunday if there is a decent lapse rate.

I'm starting to like what I see for the Pulpit tomorrow. No color at all on the ADDS 3k map by the afternoon. Even assuming the usual +10 at launch, seems like there could/should be plenty of good cycles. I think the glider's going on the vehicle tonight! :D

Please post if you have decided to go to Pulpit tomorrow (Saturday)

I got text messages from a few & WhatsApp from others.
But I would kindly appreciate if my fellow HGs communicate by Sat 10am if they are going to & where they are going to :)

The Pulpit looks like the best choice for Saturday. I can be there by 11:00 AM. Unless I hear that people are going to Woodstock I am planning to go to the Pulpit.

PS. Walt could you please bring the U2 along?

It's a PG day at Woodstock tomorrow. Way too light a forecast for a HG day. Bacil

Having a hard time deciding....

There's now a G20 blip at 4pm on the Pulpit srfc hourly, and the 3K map now has 15-20 appearing by 3pm, solidly filled-in by 4pm.

OTOH, the gust factor for Sunday on the WStock srfc hourly now lasts all day, and well beyond sunset.

So things might be on the strong side, whichever day you pick. Hmmmm.

I am going to take a rain check today.
Hopefully tomorrow at WS I will be able to go

Have fun

Im seeing 15-20 mph on the ground Sunday starting after noon and continuing past 5..that would put it solidly in the 20+ catagory at launch.. What are you guys seeing?

Launch conditions were a little strong with higher gusts, but not that bad. Launched Tom first and I followed. Pleasant flying conditions until dark. Thanks to Allan, Mark and Bacil for their expert launch help. Thanks to Bacil for the retrieve. Thanks to Mark for glider pictures.
