Maybe Elizabethville would be a good choice.

I was thinking about Elizabethville for at least one of the days. Pulpit looks better for Saturday. Elizabethville looks better for Sunday. Bacil

So who's interested in flying at the Pulpit tomorrow afternoon? And Elizabethville late Sunday afternoon? Bacil

I plan to get there by 2:30P+. Allan will be there earlier. Charley should be there at some time in the afternoon. Jon Brantley is a definite maybe. Others? Bacil

Got to the Pulpit launch at 2:50P to find Charley and Allan set up, and Tom Ceunen and Mark from Philly celebrating his 2+ hour PG flight w/ a stogie. Mark's flight ended up being the only flight of the day. Allan got up on the ramp, but backed off due to swirly conditions not to his liking. Good thing, since the horizon showed multiple snow squalls spread across almost the entire western horizon right after he backed off. An upper level disturbance had to be the culprit behind the curtain of snow. Bacil

Got to the Elizabethville launch at 12:30P. Found Allan partially set up, w/ moderate to strong conditions. A bunch of cars pulled up, and out popped ~ 40 teenagers from Philadelphia, all of whom were of Ukrainian descent, who were staying the weekend at a church retreat in Halifax. I snapped the obligatory pics at the lip of the launch for the massive group, and a few were curious about hang gliding. They departed, and a nice couple my age from Millersburg showed up. We got to talking about motorcycles (his hobby) and hang gliding. Russ Long and his wife Linda were gracious w/ their time, and Russ, being semi-retired, volunteered his services as a retrieve driver for me on my cross country adventures from the SAC. Already a good day! They departed around 2P, and Allan and I set up our gliders. By 2:45P it had settled down nicely, and Allan helped me get into position. Thanks Allan. Had a nice launch in a smooth cycle and got up easily. Bobbed around for ~ :15 in a strong headwind, getting 400'+ over. Saw Allan trying to get into position to self launch, so I hung around for a little while. Conditions picked up, so Allan parked the glider next to the tree line just above the lip. I went into land at the winery so I could hike back up and help Allan launch. Choppy air, but got her down safely, heading WSW past the grapevines. Raised Allan on the cell, but he threw in the towel. Broke down in the waning sunlight behind the winery building, and relaxed in an easy chair on the patio. Allan gave me a body ride back up, and I got to the winery right at sunset to pick up my glider. I'm getting to like Elizabethville  . Bacil
