Gary and I have been debating a possible flying day on either Monday or Tuesday at WStock.
The velocity looks better on Monday, but the direction is forecast to be *solidly* W, sliding a bit south of W by the end of the day.
The direction looks much better on Tuesday, but the surface forecasts show a 20+ gust factor until just beyond sunset.
Grrrrrrr!
I can't yet commit to taking a day of vacation based on what I'm seeing, it's not like either forecast is a slam-dunk. But thus far, I'm leaning toward Tuesday, in hopes that the "Woodstock Effect" still means something. Will update this thread tomorrow, and happy to hear opinions from others about what they're thinking!

Sorry for not posting Monday AM : The W with a hint of SW forecast wasn't enough to tempt myself or Gary into flying today.
For Tuesday: Well.... Not looking very encouraging as of Monday night. The gust factor on the NWS hourly has been pushed back out until well past sunset, with a G28 at 4pm and a G23 at 5pm. I'll have a look at the updated forecasts tomorrow morning, but have to say, not hugely encouraged by what I see right now.

The forecast is now calling G30 through sunset, so I'm out.
Even if the Woodstock Effect comes through (and there *have* been times when it has!)... I don't like the odds, I'll burn the vacation day another time.

Maybe we are looking at different forecasts. It will be above freezing Wednesday so the temp should not be an issue.
In any event, my Wednesday has become over scheduled so I doubt I could make it anyway.

Agree that Wednesday has promise : A bit light for the hangies, but could be worth the gamble. Unfortunately, could only get away yesterday or today, sigh.
