Looking good for the SAC this Saturday. N 10 to 15 MPH forecast. The best place to fly at in a due north forecast. Bacil

I'm keeping an eye on it..... Surface 'cast is light (6-7), as is the 3k. Not super-thrilled by what I see given the drive, but maybe the forecasts will improve.

Another option for a due N day is High Rock.... But not sure I'd be up for that on a light day.

Any other ideas?

Well, I'll likely regret it, but just couldn't convince myself to make the drive up to the Sac today. It *is* a spring day, and the satellite shows a fair amount of sun, so odds of some thermals to get up seem pretty good. If you headed there, hope you have a great flight Bacil! Let us know how it turned out.

At the moment it is way soarable and will be most likely all day. Strong and breezy but forecast to abate slowly in the next 2 hours. C'mon up. Bacil

I ended up not flying. Got there at 11A-. Joe Gorrie was weedwhacking the slot and Jonathan Leal arrived up at launch. Ready to go by noon but only one pilot present at that time: Ed Messina. And launch conditions dictated 3 wire crew. Cloud streets galore but it was COLD. Temp only around 40 degrees at noon at launch. So Ed pulled out his weedwhacker and went to work on the slot for the next 2+ hours. Another pilot William Hynla showed up and went straight to work w/ his weedwhacker on the slot. Joe and Jonathan Leal came back up, and Joe had a chain saw and went to work on a fallen tree in the slot. So by 1:30P it had settled down nicely but w/ no sign of the workers stopping and my motivation waning I pulled the plug and broke down. Jonathan tried to talk me out of it, but my mind was made up. And, of course, as soon as I started breaking down, up from the slot come the 3 workers. My mission then became to find some hamburger meat at a store along the way home for a meal on the grill. Hit the road at 3P, and found success at a Giant in Halifax, PA. Late last night I got a phone call from the Gorrie household. Karen and her brother Jonathan were on speaker and it was a sledfest save for Joe, who flew for over an hour. They waited way too long to fly, when I sat thru soarable air for 2+ hours, waiting for safe number of wire crew. But there will be another day, another WARMER day. Bacil
