Late Sunday Oct27 options?
The NWS hourlies are hinting at some W to WNW winds late on Sunday, 4pm or so..... All it would take would be for things to move through a bit quicker than currently forecast, and a late flying day might be possible. Anyone else considering?

Yep. Looks just like Wednesday however . Bacil
Re: Late Sunday Oct27 options?
The 3k ADDS 'cast is calling for the stronger stuff to extend into northern VA at the end of the day, so WStock might be possible in spite of the 10-ish surface forecast..... But it would be cross out of the west, end-of-day, and of course there's the road. Hmmm.

NWS surface hourly now calling G20+ all afternoon at the Pulpit. They've finally caught up with you Bacil
So Woodstock seems like it might be the better bet. Sfc hourly there calling for winds just a touch north of west by 4pm. Still just 10mph, but the 3k forecast has really filled in (hopefully not too much?), seems like it could work if the cross isn't too bad.
Opinions? Would be awesome to get a fall-colors flight this weekend, probably just about peak....

Well, if you can believe the weather stn at launch, the direction was better than forecast at WS. But OTOH, the only notable lull was from 4 to 4:30, and winds were gusting well into the 20s on launch most of the afternoon, 28mph at 6:30. Have a feeling that we didn't miss much....
And whoah, gusts in the 40s at the Pulpit
