Great day at BlueSky on Sunday, August 4th.
First flight, AT and Lisa dropped me off in a nice thermal. From there I topped out at 2800 feet.
(Sorry! No video of my AT flight. Too busy with all new futures on my harness.)
This was my first flight using my new Woody Valley Tenex 4 and forgot to take out a 2 inches spacing pad on the footrest pad, so it was not comfortable flying, on my first flight.
After leaving the thermal after 20 minutes flight, noticed Dan high up above me. Great job Dan.
Flew up north and found a great lift line, barely losing any high. Decided to land after 29 minutes to make some adjustments.
After landing, Steve helped me and decide to just test the harness again, lowering the hang loop, and using truck towing.
Managed to be towed up to 740 feet and hoked up right away with a 60-fpm On/Off thermal. Then 60 became 137 fpm, then 42 fpm. But at least I did get up and drifted very little.
In the end, topped out at 3800 feet and maxed out up to 800 fpm.
Noticed some great CU north west and flew over there.
In my opinion, a Blue Sky day that most pilot with little bit off skills and luck could stay up for hours.
And the Tenex 4 is nice. Most off all, my glide ratio has improved a lot with this new harness and more... .
