Admitted, it's early but current casts are looking really good.

Full of hope!

Arrgh! Another weekday forecast that's looking like a classic WS day...

Maybe, maybe, I can shuffle things around so that I can get away from work by noon or so. Certainly seems like it might be a late-day sort of day, gust factor dropped by 5pm. Hmm.

I am looking at coming out for a late afternoon/evening flight. I will keep watching the weather and likely decide Friday morning.

XcSkies forecast for launch for Friday as of 6 PM Thursday. Good direction but:
35 mph at 8:00
33 mph at 10:00
32 mph at 12:00
25 mph at 2:00 pm
20 mph at 4:00
21 mph at 6:00
20 mph at 8:00 pm
Curious as to what Holfuy will report.

Yeah, and the surface gust predictions are also depressing. Will decide by early morning.

All of the morning predictions are suggesting that the wind and surface gust speeds for most of the day will be beyond my safety zone so I’m out. The current (6:30am) tower readings are also indicating blown-out conditions.

Keep in mind that sunset isn't until after 8:30, that's a fair amount of time for things to mellow out.... That said, I'm not sure it's worth vacation time for the chance of a flight at the very end of the day. :?
Gary still seems interested, wants to be at launch at 5pm. Me, still on the fence....

Below are the forecast and the readings at those times.
Forecast 35 mph at 8:00 readings 16.7 - 30.4
33 mph at 10:00 readings 14.3 - 35.3
32 mph at 12:00 readings 9.9 - 24.8
25 mph at 2:00 pm readings 10.5 - 21.7
20 mph at 4:00 readings 12.4 - 27.3
21 mph at 6:00 readings 9.9 - 19.8
20 mph at 8:00 pm readings 9.9 - 16.7

It looks like the forecast was more toward the gust amounts, and a lot of the base readings were about half of the forecast! It appears it might have been doable so hopefully some of the HG & PG pilots that were there can comment.

Aviation was commited! 2 HG then 2 PG.

Can't say it was epic...... But it was pretty good, 2k over, fairly strong in the air. The funometer needle was definitely moving :D

Photos and more details tomorrow. Back home after midnight, classic flying day!
