"Cloudy skies early, followed by partial clearing. Slight chance of a rain shower. High around 50F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph"

Thoughts?

The sfc 'cast is now "classic WStock" : 10-15G20+ . That has my attention! (even though it will be on the chilly side).

One concern: Gust factor till near-sunset. But I'm hoping that, overall, the day might not be as strong as last Sunday.
Guess we'll see, nothing ventured nothing gained.

And remember : We need to rendezvous as many pilots as possible at the bridge field, given the road closure.
It's about 40 min from the LZ to the top.

*Assuming* no major changes in the forecast, I think I'd like to get there earlier, about 11am.

But this assumes that the tower station isn't reporting 30mph gusts like last weekend..... If it *is*, and if the gust-factor remains in the sfc 'cast until sunset, then I'll probably pull the plug. Will watch readings before and during the drive....

Gust factor in the NWS sfc 'cast for WStock has been up'd to 24mph, and now lasts well past dark.

ADDS 3k is hinting at the nasty beige color (30-40 kts) at 8pm, very close to WStock.

Still plan to be looking at things tomorrow-AM, and possibly making a final call while on the road.

I am bailing out on Woodstock today as it does not look like a back down until dark.

3k 'cast is definitely a building one, with 30-40kts in north VA by 6pm, and lasting overnight.

Leave at 10. In the LZ at noon, transfer gear and up top by 1:00, set up by 2:00. Mostly cloudy, until late PM. Hmmm....

Walt, are you still motivated?

I'm out. The weather station is showing more of a 15-20G30 day than a 10-15G25 day. With the predicted ramp up.... Nah.

35MPH is nothing... :D :D

Agree...too cold...too strong...

Pulpit looks too strong and WS moderate.

Sadly, can't get away from work next week. Maybe later in the spring it'll be easier to disappear for a day....

Gusting almost 40mph at the tower as of 12:30
