Been watching the forecasts for several days, as the predicted direction slowly clocked to the North..... Not sure I would have been up for the Pulpit, but was hoping for at least a training hill day at Smithsburg! And now the latest 'casts seem to be calling way North at both sites. :x
Don't want to be a downer, and maybe things will improve with tomorrow's forecasts. I'll be checking things out early tomorrow, maybe we'll be in luck!

Hey Mark

I agree that the forecast has turned north. I am not holding my breath for tomorrow.

Yeah, and G20 at the surface until 11am, then an hour until the slight NNW is completely N. Can't know unless you go of course.... Might still be willing to swing by Smithsburg for a look, ya never know. Anyone else at least have it on the radar?

Brain-lock, duh! Kirshner's! I think I'll at least swing by there for a look, been *forever*. ETA: 1-ish.

The short take: Wicked cross right when we arrived, but then a period when cycles were up the hill (the one that's further from the road). Then wicked cross again, with the three of us up top wishing/hoping for one more flight.
Still, all of us flew and the temp was *perfect* for a training hill day, low 20's.

The fields and hills are wide open and bare. All the brush and brambles are indeed gone from the “LZ”. It’ll be really nice as long as it stays frozen. Once it thaws, the LZ will be a mud pit for a while. Good day. Probably would’ve gotten more than two flights, but I forgot my helmet. (Duh!) My bro was kind enough to share. I think Mark got four, my bro got three or four. We all flew from about 10 feet or so down from the top of the hill which seemed like the nicer launch point. Some really nice, straight flights in laminar air with an occasional weird bump or two from the right.
