looks good for pulpit or high rock tomorrow (good and cold). Any thoughts on timing and site?
Since we have some fairly new H2's out there, the primary Pulpit LZ can only be reached in a falcon if you are soaring, and the secondary is tight. So unless you have done some ridge soaring and feel comfortable with it and have done enough flying that landing near trees is not an issue, you may want to find an observer that's going to high Rock. I'm willing to go if asked, otherwise I'll likely go to the Pulpit. All forecast dependent.
XC...hmmm....launch when it's 25 degrees, climb up to where it's 15 degrees and a 25 mph headwind, land in the middle of nowhere with a frozen water bottle and die of exposure before anyone finds you - can't wait!

I'm definitely thinking of giving tomorrow a try. At the moment
Pulpit looks pretty darn good.... I know that the NWS text forecast is
W 10-20 at the surface, but I don't see whipping-strong forecasts
aloft, and Intellicast is saying 10-15. And given that the winds
are supposed to back off during the course of the day, well....
I'm trying not to get too psyched about the day.
It *will* be cold, but one nice thing about the Pulpit is that the
set-up area is sheltered. That plus plenty of sun should mean
that you won't freeze simply setting up.
Dare I even think about the possibility of a mid-Feb XC towards
the Rock???? Anyone else hungry?
Will be up and looking at conditions early tomorrow...

Brian - Saturday at the Rock or M'Burg
I'm interested in flying if possible. It is too late for me to call you tonight to discuss - I'll check the winds in the morning and touch base with you Brian for observer-ship possibilities. Linda B.
