2017 National Cherry Blossom Kite Festival

Post by mingram »

The kite fest is April 1st this year. 10 AM – 4:30 PM The rain date is Sunday the 2nd.

We'll have our usual spot on the mall this year for kiting paragliders and hang gliders. The CHGPA will have a table and two chairs and I'll bring the CHGPA sign to hang from the front of it. I'm looking for a volunteer to bring a hang glider and for people to help man the table with me.

Got some initial volunteers, but more are always welcome!

Tommy Powers is going to bring two hang gliders for display.
Bjorn is going to help me man the table from 10-3.

Matt,
Just got the word that I will be able to attend the kite festival. I plan to bring two gliders and will arrive around 9AM. I will call you on route as I get closer.

Awesome! Yes, Tommy is bringing two hang gliders. Jeff Eggers and his family plan to make an appearance. Weather for Saturday is looking dry and windy!

Classic Kite Fest day. Too gusty to do much kiting, but really good turnout. Pictures later.
