Planning to arrive after 12 noon and hoping to get airborne by 2P. Direction looks STFI. Looking to visit our friend Paul Kos on his 40 acre spread in Fort Valley by Passage Creek. Bacil

I bailed, given the temps, and that I would be on a Falcon, and that I have a trip coming up and stuff to get done. Been watching conditions all day, hoping to hear that there were some great flights!

Much thanks to Bacil & the guys for helping me launch 12:30 , caught a good cycle and got off relatively comfortably, it was my maiden flight on a new to me 2009 T2C.

Track log visualization here -> http://doarama.com/view/1242047

Pressure indicated max altitude was 5600, but GPS track log was showing about 5500 MSL.

Flew north a bit, halfway to signal knob, then turned south. When i got near the edinburgh gap i distanced myself from the ridge a bit and caught a boomer or two that gave me plenty of altitude to cross over to Short Mountain. After my experience last time there with a low save, i put myself a decent bit away from the ridge over Short , with an internal contract to not let myself get below 3.5K.

Messed around on short for a while until I ran out of time and headed back north. On the way back I encountered a few mature bald eagles that were more than happy to show me the way in a thermal, they got really close! Landed in the new primary LZ, hitched a ride on the back of a truck to launch, had a grand day.

Hot-Hands really saved me today. I taped one to my neck, two in my socks, and two in my gloves. Kept me pretty toasty except for some snot that froze on my face. Cocoon harness + big fat jacket = mega drag though

Really sweet glider. Congratulation!
Did you feel you had much better glide and therefore never to much worry about reaching any given point?

it definitely made me feel better while cruising <4k around short mountain.

Glide at speed was pretty good, but again I think my draggy outfit really takes a few points off. Once I figure out my race harness (am planning on putting a few dozen flights in it on the falcon) - I imagine the performance will be even better.

Bar pressure was greater than I expected though, unless I went more than 2/3 VG. I spent most of the flight playing around with VG and different speeds in thermals, etc.

Definitely handles different than my u2-145 (a little board-ier) and RX4
