Hourly for HGR 48 hours out has it WNW until a NW switch at 4P. Getting there early Sunday and launching early before it gets out of hand for the majority of the flying day. Tomorrow looks WSW but still soarable after 2P. Bacil

Sat morning casts’ are now suggesting that afternoon HG soaring conditions will be ideal at the Pulpit on Sunday. Wind speed predictions (NAM and European) at 2K msl are indicating mid-teens blowing from 280 degrees. Can’t get much better than those numbers.

Got to launch at 8:45A. Out of hand already. Put in the spinner windsocks. Set up the glider on the control frame. The windsocks got untethered from their 4P nail holders repeatedly. Anytime that happens, it's a good indication that conditions on launch are way too gusty. Charley arrived around 9:30A, Ward around 9:45A. Juan Sonen showed up to check out the conditions. We waited until noon to see if things would radically change, but they didn't change enough to convince us to stick around. Ward and Juan left to go home, and Charley and I headed to Woodstock. Bacil
