It's early yet, I realize. But on the off-chance that things don't work out on either Sat or Sun.... The current sfc hourly is calling for NW10G23 on Monday at Woodstock, with the G-factor gone by 3pm.
That's definitely got my attention, and might be worth a 1/2 day of vacation time if it really comes to pass.
Maybe we'll be lucky and there will be some good flying this weekend. But if not.... Just wanted to 'plant the seed' early, for a possible weekday flight!
Yikes, the weekend 'casts are starting to look crazy-strong! And OTOH, they seem to be backing things down a bit on Monday at WS. Starting to think that I might work one day this weekend, and then take Monday as a fly day, so that I don't miss the window for best conditions. But hey, 4 days out, it's all smoke and mirrors at this point.
Urfff! Now starting to look pretty strong all day at WS on Monday. Still hoping that it might work out, but now shifting back to a late-day focus. Would sure be nice to get a flight in before the t-day madness!
Late day Monday may be a possibility like Mark hinted. Tuesday looks too light and cross. And with an LZ that is way far from launch I would only fly Woodstock on days that are pretty much bulletproof soarable. Like tomorrow. Bacil
Gary Smith and John McAllister did. Gary got to 6K' MSL out in the valley and had to fight to get down just before sunset. Homer got to 3800' MSL and flew for an hour+. While they set up it was 10 to 20 on launch but by the time they were ready to launch it was maybe 5 MPH at 3P-. Bacil
