It was nice to be back after almost 4 months!
I arrived Sunday by 3:00pm at Pulpit. It was a very short flight, but I am glad I could take off and land safely.
Once again, thanks to my fellow pilots for helping me on take off, body ride, and guidance. Special thanks to Bacil for the peer pressure I will not go to the Pulpit yesterday if he did not have insisted Also, special thanks for Rich B for assisting all of us!

BTW, I think I lost my radio If you saw one, let me know.

Regarding ramp coating. After a good weathering, we put a coat of protectant on the new wooden ramp. Mistake...made the ramp extremely slippery. We couldn't wait for it to weather off again. Not sure what the answer is, but definitely get any treatment cleared by the board.

Thanks for letting me know. I will definitely not put coat on for that reason.

Here’s an interesting comparison of yesterday’s conditions at the Pulpit vs. the Hagerstown Regional Airport. The JLG Training Center weather station is 1.7 miles from launch and positioned ~0.5 miles south of McConnellsburg (almost directly out in front of launch). The Hagerstown airport is 19 miles SE of launch. The info about the JLG station states that its elevation is 945 ft which puts it at ~50 ft above the ground (downtown McConnellsburg is listed at 892 ft). Don't know the elevation of the Hagerstown site but its most likely on top of the control tower. The screen shots show yesterday afternoon real time readings, hourly readings from the airport and 15 minute intervals from the training center.

Another interesting point about yesterday’s conditions/predictions is that at 6:30 yesterday morning all three weather models (the European, Global and North American) indicated that throughout the day at McConnellsburg there would be light NNW surface winds and a NNW direction in the low teens at launch.

The Windyty site allows one to toggle back and forth between the different predictions.
