Sunday 7/24 Edith's Gap

Post by mingram »

I watched George suffer in sink and waited to launch until I saw him going up over the finger. I launched into light lift and turned left instead of the typical right turn and immediately regretted it. George was going out to land when I found very light lift where the finger meets the mountain. After 5 or more turns of maintaining the whole ridge started going up. The rest of the flight I tried to get high and head north to chase after Tom and Rick who were headed to Winchester. There was abundant lift and some dark bottomed clouds. Sometimes it felt like multiple cores joining together

Huge thanks to my buddy Chris who picked us up in Winchester, drove us to a pub, and then drove us all the way back to launch to get my car!

distance 50 km
max altitude 1946 m = 6384 ft
max speed 52
mean speed 29 km/h
