Wind direction looks great. Temperature seems almost perfect. Wind velocity seems a little bit in the weak site, but doable. Thermal activity looks promising as well.

Depending on how things develop, I am planing to give a try.

I'm going to try and break away to fly WS today, but I could use a ride beyond Gainesville if anyone is going out from DC.

Thanks, Jeff

Interesting day at WS.

We had 3 PGs (George, Jeff, and Peter) and one lousy HG (me).
George was the 1st one to take off with light winds (3:00pm +-). He was able to get above the ridge, then sank and landed in the bridge field.
I was the 2nd one to take off on light winds. I was not able to move up despite the thermals were very strong: I am sure that a better pilot would be able to take advantage of these strong thermals. I got a so strong thermal that almost flipped my glider up side down when I was +- 100feet below the LA! Since I was not very high, I got scared and I ended up landing on the right side of the river. The owner (I forgot her name) was extremely friendly.

Then the winds changed!

Peter and Jeff took in good conditions and quickly move up. According to them, the winds got too strong (for PGs) and with some effort they were able to land in the bridge field.

George rescued me. Then Jeff and I went to the LA again where I let my bag. The conditions were AMAZING better: straight, steady, 8-12 mph.

I should have waited until 4-4:30pm to take off, but since most of the weather forecast indicated that the winds would get weaker, I did not and I regret :(
