Website Pictures

We're looking for local paragliding and hang gliding pictures for the new website. Please link to them here or email them to me. If you uploaded a photo to this forum and want to find it you can go to your User Control Panel > Attachments to see what you've uploaded.

Yep. We're working with a company to redesign our website. Something more modern and mobile accessible. We just started discussions about the design. Have any specific needs or ideas?

Good idea. Ironically, more communication is taking place with texts. This can exclude people who are not in the loop. We need to keep our members interested, involved and unified.

All images are stored on third party image hosting service and bbcode for images is automatically inserted in posts when users "upload" images. My control panel does not show any attachments. This was setup to save space? Maybe Mark could clarify this.

I like forum software by XenForo. Easy to add pictures, PM discussions etc. Not sure how easy admin would be or what the cost is.

Alerts, SEO, recent activity and graphical nature make it nice. https://xenforo.com/

I now have specific dimension requirements. Please email me directly if you have something that is at least wide enough that I can crop. The inner image needs to be really wide image. I'm hoping to highlight both hang gliding and paragliding. Ward, I liked one of your images over Highland with a view from cloudbase and think that may be a keeper for the homepage.

1980 x 898 px homepage

1980 x 504 px inner pages

Hi Charlie,

Sorry not to have seen anything about your problems adding photo attachments to your posts. I haven't been hugely active in the forums, and there wasn't any mention of your problem via the one forum which I DO pay a bit more attention to (ie: Forum and Website Helpdesk). So....

Anyway, I tested out your forum perms, and (at least for me, simulating you) the ability to add attachments is right there. Click on "New Topic", and just below the panel where you enter the text of your post you should see a second panel that provides three clickable tabs : 'Options', 'Attachments', and 'Polls'.

Click on 'Attachments' and you'll see a button that allows you to upload a file from your device.

Yes, we do try to be a bit conservative about space (12 MPixel images directly off your camera? Sorry, that would be a killer!).

So images typically have to be downsized. I've forgotten what the size limit is.... But usually saving at 25% of the original image will get you something that's perfectly fine for the web/forum.

NOTE: If you are using the "Quick Reply" feature, then you will *not* see the Attachments tab.

Anyway, give it a whirl, and if things still aren't working for you then give me a call at my mobile number.

Cheers, Mark

PS: No, images attached to posts are not stored via third parties, they are stored at the CHGPA website.

I wasn't specific enough. I'm looking for images with the exact dimensions I listed above. If you need help cropping images, let me know. I'm looking for colorful images. Ones that highlight hang gliding or paragliding wings in flight, preferably from cloudbase.
