As you may know, the owners of Woodstock primary LZ sold their property. They may move by end of November. The new owner is William Parsons. I do not have his contact information. However, the club may (if they have not already done so) try to contact him. According to the current owner, he does not look like to be very friendly
I hope the club will be able to keep the primary LZ open...it will be terrible if we loose this LZ

Re: Woodstock primary LZ may be compromissed!!!!!
This was from Gary regarding flying there on Wednesday and about the LZ:
Fantastic day. Got a couple hrs. and saw a few bald eagles and some hawks. Plus got
paid for mileage to drive to a machine shop just south of Woodstock. Still corn in the
bridge field so landed in primary. The care taker of the farm (as you mentioned) said we
probably have limited time to land there. Mr. Fishburns daughter sold the entire farm.
Settlement is scheduled second wk in Nov. New owner plans to build a new house somewhere
in or near the LZ.

This is not good. Sounds like we better get a "permanent" agreement with the bridge field landowners ASAP. Bacil
Re: Woodstock primary LZ may be compromissed!!!!!
Definitely unfortunate news. The realtor contacted me and explained that the contract requires the sellers to send a certified letter revoking our permission to land there. Once settled the realtor will forward me the contact information of the new owners who we would have to negotiate a new deal with. Hopefully the new house isn't in the middle of the LZ and hopefully they're amenable to working out a deal.
As far as the bridge field, does anyone have contact info for that owner?

Re: Woodstock primary LZ may be compromissed!!!!!
This is disturbing news even for an annual spring visitor like myself.
Was the CHGPA aware that that the property was for sale?
I am guessing acreage in the Shenandoah Valley is priced in big $$$ but if the club ever has an opportunity to purchase 'the bridge field' perhaps pilots across the US would be willing to donate to such a worthy cause. Please sign me up if you need a donation for a Woodstock LZ purchase or leasing.

We just found out a week ago because some members have been trying to buy property in the area.

Also, the fields off to the right are huge and actually on the same side of the river. There is a cable across the road/driveway but if you land a HG in the nearer field, it's not a bad carry out to where the cable is. I have landed there on PG and once spoke with a couple middle-aged women from the houses. I chatted them up about was it OK to land there, they were noncommittal, I mentioned site insurance but didn't follow up. - Hugh
