Highland, July 31st

Post by Ward Odenwald »

Should be good! Forecasts are calling for light northwesterly (both surface and above) and the Easton/Newman Airfield site is predicting a temp/dew point spread above 25 during the mid to late afternoon. Thermal predictions also agree.

Ward,
I owe ya one at the Pulpit. It looks marvelous there too. I can meet you there early, get vehicle in right spot, and launch you by 12:45P. Your call. I will not be flying Friday since the weekend looks absolutely killer at the Pulpit.

Thanks for the offer Bacil but all things considered, I believe that I’m still in the red as far as helping you get airborne during the past 6 years so please don’t feel obligated (but I’ll take a “rain check” if you insist). Both the Pulpit and Highland look good on Friday but my read on the weather predictions suggest that the thermals at Highland will be remarkable! Saturday cast’s (although 3 days out) don’t look as good as Friday’s (wind direction and increased speed), however, Sunday’s predictions albeit 4 days out look better. Who knows, tomorrow evening I could be begging for Pulpit launch help.

Just let me know what you decide. No biggie for me to drive out to the Pulpit before work on Friday to help you into the soarable air :D . Bacil

I'm planning to fly Highland with Rich E. tomorrow if the weather holds. I need to keep Ward in site and pimp his thermals. :D

Ward Walt and I are going to the Pulpit tomorrow. I should get there by 10A. Gotcha covered if you decide to drive less and experience a higher top floor than the Eastern Shore. Bacil
