Message from Samira: Betrand's Memorial Service

Post by brianvh »

Sami wanted this spread as wide as possible, as Bertrand touched a lot of people. ( If you bring a sleeping bag and pad there will be room on my floor for about half a dozen people, and decent sleeping temperature.)

Hi Everyone,

I want to start by saying it has been a tough couple days, but thank you for all your love and support. I would not be able to survive without your good thoughts and prayers during this time. Bertrand has touched all of our hearts in some way, shape or form and we are better people for it. Let’s keep those good memories with us forever.

Below are the details for the services this weekend. Please feel no obligation to attend but I wanted to pass along the information. I would appreciate if you all could help spread the word to those I may not have contact info for.

6-10pm Life Celebration pARTy
Bertrand Delacroix Gallery (535 West 25th Street New York, NY 10011)

Sunday, June 28
2-5pm Viewing
7-9pm Viewing

As you know, Bertrand was so full of life and loved to pARTy. We would be honored if you could join us on Saturday evening at the Chelsea Gallery for a toast and reflect on all the good times we’ve had with him over the years.

Bertrand wished to be cremated. If you are part of our beloved flying community I will be in touch to organize some memorial services at his favorite flight parks and mountain sites to spread his ashes over the next year. It seems only fitting for the wind to take his spirit and live in the sky forever.

Thank you all again for your love and support. You may contact me via email or by phone at 610-762-3822.

Love,
Samira

PS. Bertrand’s family will be having a Requiem Mass for him on Saturday, July 4th in Paris. I will have more details soon, but if anyone is unable to be with us this weekend and would like to attend in France please let me know and I’ll be sure to get the information to you.

I likely can't bring myself to do the viewing, not the way I want to remember him. But will see you at the party hopefully. Alex Beynenson will be there and perhaps a few others. Sofa bed available if needed.

Thanks very much for the offer Brian! But I'm thinking of doing the megabus up & back, same day. Will be good to see you and Alek.
