Very happy that I had gambled on the annual leave day! The tow up was smoother than I hoped for but the fun started soon after Jim waved me off ~ 1 mile WNW of Highland under to a line of clouds positioned NW to SE. It wasn’t until after multiple climbs above 4K that I fully appreciated the fact that Rooney had waved me off in the middle of a line of thermals that extended to Greensboro and most likely way beyond. Tim Bowen was the only other solo pilot today and both of us were happy and grateful to be flying above Ridgely. I’ll post some photos after I sort through them.
