I am looking forward to flying at WS this Friday.

I agree. I will take another look in the morning, but let's just say the glider will be loaded in a few minutes.
Knut, so will the rack for the Jetta.

Btw, is the bridge field still good for landing?

Still looking at it..don't like the gust predictions for a weekday.

As for the bridge field, Roger, I'm pretty sure we don't have permission to land there, and it is posted no trespassing. Furthermore, the "most active" corn planting dates for VA are April 20 through May 20, so if they're planting corn this year we should expect it any day now. The bail-out field at the pulpit was planted in corn already, and it's farther north. Also keep in mind freshly sprouted corn looks a lot like grass.

Not to argue, but in June on the eastern shore, I have landed between the rows of foot-high corn plants and carried my glider out without disturbing even one plant. Of course, it helps that the wind was lined up with the rows... - Hugh

Any HGs on launch early please let me know your cell, as I'd like to get a wind report to see if today might work for PG.

Thanks,

Will be taking a Mountain road trip to WS today, to help you guys launch and more... .
Don't have time to fly today or a sudable HG ready car :( , have to leave WS latest 3:30PM.
Nevertheless, planning to make up for the flight tomorrow, Saturday, at Highland.
Secondary: Will also pick up the rack, if Roger comes to WS.
Jeff, for wind report: 703- nine-six seven-8277.

Ghost, according to the weather forecast, WS is not "waltable" any more.
TODAY
SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. NORTHWEST WINDS 15 TO
20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
I will check in the afternoon with both my fellow colleagues and weather forecast again.

Cheers,
Walt

Matt,

I don't think so, unless you know something I don't know. The closest I could find to permission was club members telling me "I think someone said we could land there.", which, for me, isn't definite enough to override the big bold "NO TRESPASSING" signs emblazoning the field.

I am asking the question Andy, so obviously I don't know.

Can anyone else comment on this?

I spoke with Ward at launch at 11:30. He said it is 10 with gusts to 15mph. Other things came up so I won't be going today.

Matt,

I didn't mean to be snarky, I just figured there was a chance I hadn't spoken to the right people, and perhaps you had. We lost the Jacks LZ for a time because of a similar ambiguity.
