actually i quit having the general discussion forwarded to my email in order to help maintain my discipline.
i thought that if people were getting tired of beating the same horse(smile) and that if, in actuality, there were some broader and deeper subjects being skirted or hit tangentially (as i think there are,IMHO), that there may be interest in a new jumping off point...(?)
i'm going to reference an author and article that i haven't myself read much, but which set the germ of the aforementioned thought in my mind.(it was the only thing in the 'john'

jeffrey sachs's article in the may, 2004 esquire magazine (vol. 141 / no.5) titled 'a simple plan to save the world'...'the problems that plague our planet - disease, poverty, instability, terrorism, and ever more war - are solvable. and what's more, says one of the world's leading economists, we are the first generation with the wealth and power to fix them. now.' ...sort a gets your attention.
although i have a hard copy subscription to the magazine, i couldn't access the on-line archives w/o subscribing there. i'll include a web site that has his extended work, but the stuff there is long, weighty and dense.

if there were to be any interest in the article, i could scan the hard copy, but don't have the wherewithal to post it to the forum. i could send it email(jpeg), if anyone contacts me by pm or email.
in any event, i won't be making any subsequent postings and, as i mentioned, i won't be aware of the 'general discussion' as noted earlier.
i acknowledge that my 'style' and substance (or lack thereof) can be...ah well, you've seen it!

i blame it on john stewart (of 'the daily show'), my personal 'man of the year' for several years now.
(and btw, marco, you just KNOW that if you met gw he would give you the moniker MARCO-RONI-BOY !

anyhow, cheers, gary
