Gary posted the status of the road: it is open
I hope that the flying conditions will be "waltable"
I am also a HG2. I have contacted several observers & they will be there as well

I would recommend that you call / text them to make sure

See you Sunday

GREAT! Still looks good for Woodstock for Sunday, March 15nd. Seems like Walt, Gary, Randy and Lloyd are most likely going to come tomorrow. Right? Hope to be at the Bridge field not later than 11:30AM. Also, what frequency will you guys be on?
If needed, call me tomorrow morning @ cell, 703- nine- six-seven-8277.

I may be going to Woodstock on Sunday but my concerns are strong lift and very strong winds aloft. It does look slightly better late in the day. With the Woodstock effect it could be launchable but penetration could be a factor as you get higher! I may choose to wait and go on Monday afternoon. I will look in the morning and post my intentions.

Yes, do see the wind factor aloft; though, having been home for so many days during school/snow days, family responsibilities, work and not having had a flight since December, do need to get out to the mountains tomorrow, if there is a 50% chances for a flight.
If weather/wind does not permit flying, will than hopefully get a great mountain trip and perhaps a hike.
Still hoping for the Woodstock effect and might have to wait the whole day... .

Bacil, Great to know that you are there now. Do see Danny's report too. All @ "Do my snow blinded eyes deceive me?"
Anyway, will be leaving around 9:30 AM and slowly get to Woodstock. Hopefully things will calm down and we can fly later in the day. Though, it does not look good for now. No biggie if not, will still get a great trip to the mountain and perhaps a hike during the mid day.

I'm not going today. Looks too strong and even the late day back down isn't till after dark from what I'm seeing, at least for Falcons. Be safe if you go!

Not going today but will be trying to fly tomorrow afternoon probably at Woodstock. I think there is a small chance for late today but it looks so much better on Monday. Be safe anyone that goes today!

Half considering heading to WS for a potential sunset flight (no can do tomorrow). Supposedly 15G24 at 30 minutes before sunset. But that's a big gamble, and a lot of driving, for very little airtime. Hmmmm....

Arrive at noon to find the wind blowing direct in at 15-20 mph at launch. Probably launchable, but not Knutable. With current forecast of increased wind, decide to go for a long hike with Bacil. Came back to launch after a great ~6 miles hike, finding the wind gusts to be at least 30 mph and more, up in the tower. We both bailed out and drove home at 3:00 PM, which was expected.
Conclusion: As most predicted, not a flyable day at WS today; though, great to finally get out to the mountains and a beautiful day for a hike too. Good luck tomorrow! Knut
