Region 9 Election Results

Region 9: Felipe Amunategui received 114 votes and wins the seat. Dan
Tomlinson received 38 votes. Matthew Ingram and Terry Bono each
received a write-in vote.

I want to thank all of you who took the time and effort to vote for me.

I received a very reconciliatory letter from Felipe following my congratulatory note to him. In it he said he would immediately whole heartedly support any request by the Hogback PG pilots to reinstate their observer ratings. I have forwarded the details to the pilots in question.

I read this as an olive branch of the first order. I thought it only fair to let you all know.

Great news Dan. I understand that Felipe chairs the USHPA Towing Comittee, and that tow operations may be his main focus. It appears that you (Dan) have helped to bring more attention and awareness of the concerns, needs, and challenges of the Mountain Flying community in Region 9. With a variety of mountain sites, spread across our area of Region 9, the value of developing and retaining our Observers may have been elevated.
