Pilots who spend 4000.00 for noting
I have been flying for 15 plus years and teach one or 2 students at a time when I am able. There are so many schools that talk a new PG pilot into purchasing there authorized wing dealership, they offer discounts toward the prices with the lessons. Not only that I see instructors push students through classes when they are nervous and not even ready. By the time they get to do there mountain flights they done beat the shit out of the wing, then the student wants something better soon after. Every student I have taught tells me these stories and cant get rid of the wing for less than half. I always sell a 600 wing that's air worthy and a nice used 300 harness teaching kiting, reverse and forward launches take bunny hills. Tons of class room and teach active flying and weather, effects, what to look for etc.. This way once they decide to stick to the sport the investment is low and when they earn there P-2 or P-3 rating, many people can direct them to a good wing that fits there needs. You would not believe how many guys come up to me and show me the EBay wing they purchased and have 500 hours on the wing or buy a wing that looks good but is wrong size or too much wing. Don't get me wrong there are very good schools out there. I have a few schools I buy student equipment for students because its not beat to hell. Being safe starts out day one, I have seen guys fly and have to use there reserves, flying into rotors, or not know what to do in cloud suck etc.... I have never used a reserve knock on wood, but I pick days to minimize risks and plan on enjoying the sport for years to come. Does this make sense to new flyers , seasoned flyers???

Hi 'running' !
Over-selling wings to unprepared students/pilots certainly can't be good, no matter the circumstances! So I understand your point!
But OTOH, this forum really isn't meant for discussion about practices within the industry. This forum's focus is "I have something to sell" or "I am looking for something to buy".
So if you have specific wings & prices that you are offering, then please provide the details here. Thank you!

PS: As an instructor/rigger, you might want to provide some pertinent details, such as the name of your school, your name, and your website and/or business address. That's all pretty much standard these days....
