As I was hiking out from the HG LZ at Woodstock on Friday I noticed a for sale sign on the next house up the hill. I think this is the house that the Fishburn's (sp?) actually lived in. They rented the house on the property where we have permitted to land for decades. Christie Huddle arranged to enable us to land there after the family patriarch passed away several years ago. I don't know if that arrangement will enable us to continue to land there if the family sells their primary property.
Hopefully someone who knows the situation better than I can look into it and see if there is anything we can and should do to keep this historic site available to us.

Fishburn family house for sell?

Dan
I know there is a house for sale near the Fishburn place, but it is not his house. Fishburn's old house is one driveway up from the LZ. It is a 3 bedroom ranch style house - the garage door is kept open. From what I can see, it has been vacant for a number of years. At least as of one week ago, there was no indication his house was for sale and I don't see it listed.

Tom,
I certainly could be in error but I thought it was the next driveway up the road. Maybe one or more of the pilots who flew yesterday noticed and can correct me if I'm wrong.

We've been sending a Christmas gift to Mr. Fishburn's daughter in Ohio for several years.

There's a "Mac-Mansion" just up the road from the primary that has been for sale for a while. Brick. Two or three story. Large picture windows at the front. But not the landowner AFAIK. Does that sound like the property you noticed Dan?

The Fisher home is the 2nd one up the hill from the LZ farmhouse. Mr. Fisher used to sit on his screened porch overlooking the LZ and watch us fly. I recall several days that a few of us would stop off to visit, and be out on his porch with him. Christy was particularly good about stopping in to visit with him, both there in the house, and later in the nursing home.

Re: Fishburn family house for sell?
The for sale sign was on the first house. Sorry about the false alarm.
