Pulpit Fri15Aug : If weekend tanks?

Post by markc »

Sorry for the added thread, but wanted to start one that is date-specific.....

I'm looking at the 'casts and there are some hints that weekend conditions might be light-ish and going SW.

If that holds up, and the hang gliding mountain options for the weekend seem to be tanking, then my interest in flying on Friday will be much increased. :-) Might even be able to swap Friday for a day of work on the weekend.

It sounds like Krzysztof can get away on Friday.... Anyone else?

I might be able to head up on friday. I have only been there/flown there once, during a fly in, so I might need directions. Also, that first time up I walked the main (baseball) LZ and was shown a bailout, but I don't know about the golf course. Maybe someone can give me the 411.

Brad,
You can call me for directions to the side. Be there early Friday and we can walk the available LZ options. Do you need an oserver?

I don't need an observer; I'm a H3. Thanks!

I'm leaning toward Friday at this point.... Though it looks like it might be W at the Pulpit on Sunday, they're calling for mostly cloudy and a pretty good chance of rain. Sat in the mtns looks like Daniels and pretty light.

I'll have to do some rearranging at work in order to get away.... But hoping I can pull it off....

Interested, but can't leave work until 3:00, ETA Pulpit 4:30pm. Conditions look good even later in the day.
Observer needed.

At work, glider on truck, just have to get some things juggled. ETA: noonish, unless things unravel.

Two in the air and four setting up. Charlie, John M is here, maybe he could observe you?

Nice evening conditions. The Pulpit served up some magic air with a wide lift band and areas of stronger lift. Flew for an hour, 3.3K and had a surprisingly nice landing in the lower primary. Thanks to Mark for sticking around and picking me up in the LZ. Stayed to watch the fireworks and some stargazing. Not a bad start to the weekend. :D
