Fri Jul 18 or Sat Jul 19. Anyone thinking of Edith's Gap?

Post by krryerson »

Hello!
Will probably be going to go to Highland on Fri and/or Sat for CX. Though, anyone thinking of Hang gliding at Edith's Gap?
I would be up for some Cross Country flying from Edith's Gap, tomorrow Fri or Sat, as long as it is Soarable conditions at Edith's.
Looks like South-east days; though, things seems a bit light for us hang gliders. Anyone thinking of Edith's Gap?

If you decide to go to Edith's Gap, make sure to get a good look at the LZ as well as the options for landing near the river.

Hi,
I did go to the holiday week work party in December, so I know the LZ very well; but will only land there with my HG (Sport 2), if I absolutely have to... . Yes, I know about the LZ next to the river. I will let you know by 8 AM tomorrow morning!

Seems like very light conditions at Luray today; so, will be going to Highland. Going to meet Ric E there; though will be little bit late. ETA ~1PM.

Ridgely was great today (Friday) with light winds, sun, cumulus and good lift! Only Joe G, some newbe, and me as solo pilots. I flew for as long as wanted (2:20) and had to core sink to get down. I got to 5300+ and I think Joe got higher. Sure was glad that I went.

Sunday, July 20th Ridgely:
Hoping for a cross country flight; but, not the day for flying at Highland this Sunday. Still got two tows and got to fly, but nothing to brag about. Though, used the down time at the flight park to get my Hang Glider Reserve Parachute Inspected and Repacked by Sunny.
