Re: CHGPA Meeting with Shenandoah National Park Superintende
Dear CHGPA Members:
Quick Update: Our meeting with the Shenandoah National Park (SNP) leadership team went very well today. Better than we could have wished for. We met for two hours and then walked each site for over 6hrs. Before the thunder clouds arrived. -Phew!
We have some formal details to work through in a collaborative manner in the weeks ahead to finalize a Memo of Understanding between CHGPA and SNP. But, in summary we have expanded free flight access under special use permit for all three designated locations (Hogback, Millers Head, Dickey's Ridge) within the National Park.
SUCCESS !!!
Special thanks go out to Jim McClave, Matt Ingram, and Peter J. van Oevelen for this major collective achievement.
A more detailed CHGPA report to follow in the weeks to come.
Thanks,
Pat

Fantastic!
Terrific job everybody, thanks to you all. That's a fantastic accomplishment that you achieved from a start that nobody could have guessed would end up here.

Re: CHGPA Meeting with Shenandoah National Park Superintende
*** Sorry everyone I just want to make sure there is no confusion based on my previous message ***
The Hogback and Millers Head Launches remain currently RESTRICTED to Hang Gliding ONLY and are CLOSED to Paragliders.
Not until we have 100% completed our Memo of Understanding Agreement with the Shenandoah National Park will any Special Use Permits be issued for these sites. So in the coming month or so, we should be able to provide you with an update on the status of flying within the park.
Thank you for your continued patience and support.
