My truck is in the shop all day today so I am wating until tomorrow. Looks a little stronger tomorrow but less of a chance of T storms.

I am bringing my "pipes and my bag". It may be blown out or be in the path of a tstorm, but I am in the mood to take a chance on the evening and the Woodstock effect. I am also willing to set up the hg, which greatly increases the odds of committing aviation. This is a day for the gambler.

I arrived around 6 pm to find LE and Ben Herrick at launch. They had business in Winchester and stopped by launch. Definitely blown out for pg with 10 to 15 mph at launch, there was a west cross. It was gusty with the average gust around 20 mph. There were two freight trains that went through of 30 mph while I was setting up my hg. I launch into a 5-10, but it was squirrely in the slot from the cross. The flight lasted about an hour, landed before sunset. I had fun, working what I think was wave lift out into the valley with a max altitude above launch level of around 2300. My ground speed looked like I was flying a pg with speeds of 3-5 mph, at times, as I headed into the wind. I could always speed up by pulling in. There were no real penetration problems. Turbulence was much milder than I expected. Nice light wind landing in the bridge field. Ben and LE brought my truck down. A good gamble. The tstorms went through the area about 3 hrs before I arrived. Many thanks to Ben and LE.
