Big Walker Mountain Fly In

Post by XCanytime »

This weekend Friday thru Sunday 4/18 - 4/20 is the Big Walker Mountain Fly In. Saturday is looking magnificent there with winds right now predicted NW 10 to 15 MPH. Sunday is looking light out of the North. It's quite a haul being a half hour from Dublin VA. There is a fee of $100 to fly there to recoup all the $ that the landowner Jim Bogle has invested in the site. You can camp in the LZ across from Jim's house. He has a hot shower and rest room facilities on site. The launch is the widest, most cleared slot I've ever seen. The LZ has many uphill landing options. Jim will even haul your equipment up on a flatbed trailer for a modest fee of $5. I plan on heading down after work Friday night halfway and doing the rest of the leg early Saturday morning. C'mon down and fly a different site. Bacil

The latest fcst for Saturday is not looking as good as it did before for the Big Walker area, but it is looking sweet for High Rock and the SAC. I will probably end up staying local. Bacil
