Today I went over to Highland in the morning to have Sunny look at my glider.
He ended up making the right aft leading edge on my glider from scratch...good as new! He's magic! I got to help with picking a piece of tubing for a short sleeve and picked a piece from my old U2 I also got a little practice sewing a small patch.
Took it for a spin in the beautiful summer day - this nice weather was unexpected but totally worked in my favor. The wing flies flawlessly, it was great to be in the air so soon after hurting it a little.
Thank you Sunny!
A litte edit on this note:
The is used as a substitute for an avatar for irony - though I am glad a piece of that beautiful U2 will be flying with me again.
I have the gps file and video from this flight to serve as a good learning tools. There's a lot to marvel at and a lot to learn from the memory of this flight and the data gathered - the end of the flight will definitely stay with me for a while. I have been reached out by a very generous local pilot that looked over the flight for me - I appreciate the help and advice!
One big flying lesson this one for sure, one that had all the good, the bad and the ugly.
Looking forward to sharing the skies with you all.
