Re: High Rock Sunday
I'm still thinking about going... Got up late today.
Dr. Jacks still says it's a good day at High Rock 3-400'+ up and such. Weather.com is less positive but I'd like to give it a shot.
Who else is in? I'm thinking of an eta around 12 pm or so.

At the glider port, NW at 5ish on the ground. Overcast with decreasing clouds as the day progresses. HR will be good today. It will get a bit breezy later in the day so be attentive to that.

Another GREAT DAY at the Rock!
I got 2 hours and 15 minutes and 2200 over launch. Danny launched first, followed by Karen. Both flew for about 45 minutes --till they got cold. It was completely clouded over and just above freezing at launch. Winds were mostly about 8-10 with a slight North cross and an occasional gust up to 15. Felix went next and also flew about 2 hours. David Bodner launched last (with help from Danny and Karen) and got an hour and 1650 over launch. Charlie decided not to fly. Big thanks Charlie for helping to wire crew everyone! Johan (sp) and Oliver showed up to go for a trail run and then Johan (sp) helped with Felix's launch.
Charlie, you should've stuck around, The sun came out and winds backed off around 5pm instead of ramping up as predicted.

Re: High Rock Sunday
Yes - great day! Glad I went.
4250 MSL, lots of fun, lots of thermal flying - Dr. Jacks BLIP maps called it right again:) Glad to see the thermal strength was right, sure didn't look so at first. The still frame pic shows the general conditions we had.
After we packed up it got even nicer - a late flight would of been amazing.
gotta love spring flying (even if today was a bit cold too cold for spring).
Thanks Karen for the ride back up, also Charlie, David and Johan for the launch help!

Re: High Rock Sunday
It was nice to meet all of you. Johan and I came back to Hagerstown throw Smithsburg, where I could fly a couple of minutes before the wind and gusts become too strong and turbulent (little collapse).
Some HG students overthere. It was thinking that it would be a great opportunity to learn hang gliding while I am here. My feeling is that the wind is blowing much more often and stronger than in France. Since my arrival one month ago, most of the days were not flyable (or close to the edge) for PG :/
