Woodstock Sat 1/18

Looks frigid but the sun should be out to make it a little more bearable :) Anybody else interested in giving Woodstock a shot on Saturday.

Jon,
I might join in. I am also thinking about Pulpit on Monday, MLK day. But, having two small kids and a very busy family life, I doubt that my wife would let me fly both days… .
In any case, I will check the weather tomorrow, Saturday morning and let you know around 8AM.
More, I am used to deal with cold Nordic weather, so the temperature should not be too bad to deal with.
You know you've been in Norway too long when... you think there is no such a thing as cold weather, only bad clothing.

Looks even colder than it did early when I checked  Still up for going out and giving it a look. Planning on arriving about noon or just before.

Walt,

Looks strong and cold early on with winds diminishing (but going more west) as the day goes on. Still cold though :) If you are interested then give me a call in the morning (sometime around 9am) and let me know.

With the big temp drop there is also a chance that it will be blowing like stink all day too.........

Thanks,
Jon

We got about 1/2 inch of snow here in Berryville. Front Royal got 2" which means the road up to Woodstock is very likely closed. I'd be up for a hike up and have a glider cart for two gliders and two harnesses if anyone wants some exercise. Could be an all day thing though. Logistics of dropping a car, driving around the back side, the hike in, cleaning a launch run then the drive back to the back side of the mountain. I am sure the scenery will be spectacular from the air though. Riding the fence. Someone talk me into it. 540-686-0351

Gary, poor planning on my part is probably going to knock me out of the game today. Foolishly, I wasn't really thinking there was a chance that the road might be closed......if I had thought about it, I would have tried to get a much earlier start this morning. I am still about an hour away from leaving my house which wouldn't put me there until close to 1130ish/ noon. With the car shuttle, the hike up, and set up, I think I would be cutting it pretty close to trying to get a flight in before the sun goes down. Sorry man :( Hope to fly with you soon.
