Highland Saturday Nov 9

Post by Dave Proctor »

I am heading out to Highland today. Forecast is S5-10. Could be blown out but I don't think so. I am going to get there around 9:30 to do a bike ride before flying. If anyone wants to peddle thru Tuckahoe State Park, come on out, bring your bike and join me.

Pretty day out at Highland! Sadly last flying day there for the season.
Had a 45 min. flight around 11 am, got to fly with some birds and thermal with Bob - flying the tandem. Very cool.
I then took the last 2 tows for the year just for he heck of it and to check out my new (made on the spot) Hang Strap. Thank you Sunny!
Thank you everyone at Highland for a great flying year, looking forward to the next one already!
Felix.

Nice day at Highland. I got towed up towards town sometime after noon. Didn't hit much on tow and finally took pity on the tug pilot and just pinned off. Found a fair amount of lift out there and just kept working my way southwest, past town. Eventually got into sink and headed back towards the airport. Found something just south of the airport and searched around. Was rewarded with 550 up on the averager...this is November?...beamed right thru the inversion. Bailed at 4200 because my face was getting numb. Found some sink and spiraled down for a 45 minute flight. Great fun. I need to put the shield on the helmet :-). Thanks to Sunny, Adam, and the whole Highland Aerosports crew for another awesome season.
