High Rock Fly-In

Post by Matthew »

Isn't the High Rock Fly-In this weekend (10/19-20)????

Looks NW for Sunday. Saturday maybe West or WSW. We've had a couple of Fly-Ins at High Rock with predicted SW winds and it turned out to be NW at the Rock.

What's the plan??? Is this shindig still happening???

Do we bring food?

Amy and I will be there. Bringing the pop up camper and staying up at Calcedonia State Park (just up the road on Rt 30).

A little gun shy about planning too much with food and festivities......these things seem to turn in to a weather forecast guessing and second guessing with an ebb and flow......and ebb of participants. Of course right now things look pretty good weather wise.

Hope we all get some nice flying in this weekend. Looking forward to flying and hanging out with you all.

*Days* ago, Bacil opined that it would be good at the Pulpit whichever day it didn't rain. What say you now, Bacil?

While we should fly at *High Rock* if it is flyable at *High Rock* during the *High Rock* party, can we leave open the possibility of flying a different site before returning to party at High Rock?

Looks west and breezy Sunday. And as of now WSW on Saturday. Pulpit Saturday/High Rock Sunday scenario. Bacil

Terrific Brian,

I sold the HG sometime back so I can't launch from High Rock, unless someone will loan me a simple glider (I kept the harness), but if we are launching from the Pulpit I plan to be there along with several other PGers. I hope to see you there.

Yet again, I have to miss this fly-in.

Dan, I have a Falcon 170 in my Arlington garage you're welcome to borrow.

I'll be arriving likely late afternoon, two others may not arrive until after nightfall. Not sure if we'll have more than those two, still beating the rafters.

I'll print out waivers to keep everything legit, and will be carrying my club dues.

Good question... And unfortunately I have no specific answers. Amy and I are up here camping at caledonia state park and are heading to the Pulpit in the morning . Would love to see more pilots.... Share some airtime and then some beer and stories afterwards.

unfortunately unless I see more activity happening, with the long drive and marginal winds I may pass.
