Re: Bill's Hill Saturday
I'm interested. I talked to Erick about doing some tandems for some friends. I'll bring a chainsaw.

Jacks was iffy, hope you guys had better. Spoons took off first and skillfully maintained just above the ridge, then got a thermal and went otb to a local fly in (Sam peachy's place) I waited for it to improve, which it neve did, so I got an extendo and then a dogger. Pretty evening though. Bacil decided not to fly but apparently had fun picking up spoons at the airshow. Thanks to mark Dunn for driving, and to bacil and mark for the launch
Re: Bill's Hill Saturday
Sleds at Bill's today-- I had two. Cloud cover shut everything down. Lots of PG pilots-- Matt Ingram, Karen, Jacob from Pgh., Lazlo, Petr, Kyle, Mike Balk and a few others. Erick did two tandems with a friend of Matt Ingram.
Felix was the lone HG and had a nice launch and landing.
Saw a HG on a car on I-270 driving home-- not sure who it was, maybe Andy???

Yeah that was me! It was funny, because about 30 minutes before you guys passed me Felix did, also. I guess I drive slower than everyone.

Re: Bill's Hill Saturday
Got to Bill's around 11 am, set up then...Hang -waiting. Took an extended sledder at 5 PM.
Launching was easy in the cleared slot (I did some of that and several PG pilots did a lot - thank you all!)
Landed in the field across the road from the LZ (grass too high in the main LZ).
Maybe next time the sun will be nice and come out for us - could of been a great day...
Nice being out anyway.

Re: Bill's Hill Saturday
Spoons had the flight of the day. Prior to his flight he showed me where the local airstrip Plane View Field is located. Spoons had a nice cycle to launch in and got up in light lift. A bit later he found a light thermal over launch that buoyed him up to 940' over. He lost a little then found another and decided to try to make it to Plane View Field, which has having a fly in. Coincident with that I decided to visit Plane View Field after helping Mark and Andy launch. Both had extendoes. Not knowing where Spoons went (he disappeared while I helped launch the 2) I pulled onto Sam Peachey's property. Instantly I saw that it is a pilot's dream! Airplanes literally everywhere (parked, taxiing, buzzing the downhill runway), beautiful grounds, tons of people milling about. As I rounded the main hangar lo and behold there is Spoons packing up his glider j ust off the runway. He told me he arrived with around 300' and the airplanes on the ground saw him and let him land w/o interference. We strolled the grounds and then went in for some free food offered to anybody who showed up at the fly in. Spoons and I had the best chicken either of us have ever eaten. Juicy and fall off of the bone tender. A local Amishman had grilled it after marinating it in his secret sauce. We rounded out the meal with pieces of excellent peach and apple pie as well. And then we saw two JUST Aircraft planes with huge tires and shocks continuously execute fly on a wall landings on the hillside above Sam's house. After landing they would immediately kick the aircraft around 180 degrees and take off downhill. Awesome! Apparently Sam sponsors a fly in at his private airstrip twice a year. I intend to return there for the spring fly-in. Bacil
