Bills LZ has tall grass in it right now, and has not been baled. We met the farmer who's fields are just south of the Bills Hill LZ and look much nicer to land in.
He asked that from September onwards that we don't land on his fields as he will be plowing them and planting seeds. He says that it may look like land-able dirt fields, but that they will have seedlings growing and that he will not be happy if his seedlings are damaged.
See attached image showing the fields.

Re: Bills LZ
Thanks for passing this along. Several of us landed in this field a couple of weeks ago. The family drove by and didn't say anything. But we obviously must heed their wishes to avoid damaging their crop.
BTW, nice map!

Re: Bills LZ
And why did several land in this field a few weeks ago? Because the grass was too high in the main a few weeks ago as well? Did anybody ask for permission from the next door neighbor prior to landing on their property? You are lucky the guy didn't force march you off of his property and threaten to confiscate your gear. Re: Bills LZ
Don't know about the history - but maybe it's an opportunity to build a relationship with them going forward.
We were driving away from the main field back to launch when we stopped because someone had mistakenly left their radio on the roof of the car and we heard it roll and slide off. We were looking for the radio in the grass alongside the road when the farmer came by and stopped to say Hi.
He was super-friendly - I just wish I could remember his name. Asked how our day was and how the flying was going before the conversation turned to landing in his field. He says that he does not mind us landing in his fields at all, except when he has planted seed or has seedlings. He says he understands why his fields are better to land in and that no-one wants to land in the tall grass. Apparently the family that owns the LZ are "fueding" and that's why it has not been baled yet.
He went on to say that he loves to watch us fly and wishes he had the courage to try it. The conversation ended with us promising to post on our forums the news of the seedlings and his field.

No but you are lucky Jono spoke to the landowner. The right attitude goes a long way. Bacildbodner wrote:Do we have a history with this landowner?
