Where is the club weed whacker?
It's with me, Ellis, in Arlington. Phone number: 703-five-three-six- 3209
I thought I'd start this thread and whenever the weed whacker moves, we'll update it here.

Re: Where is the club weed whacker?
I don't have the weedwhacker, but I wanted to post a bit of information about it.
There's a 1 gallon gas can that goes with it. It takes a 40:1 fuel mixture. Go to any hardware store and buy the little bottle of 2-stroke oil that says 40:1 for a 1-gallon mix. Pour that in the can, and fill the rest up with regular gas.
I have the instruction manual.

Head of weedwhacker is in my shed
the rest of the weedwhacker is with David Churchill.
Sorry. Ran out in a rush on Saturday and neglected to bring the business end of the weedwhacker. Doh

The totality of the club weed whacker is now with Karen and Matthew in Takoma Park.
Re: Where is the club weed whacker?
Unfortunately, we only have 2/3 of the club weed whacker--- we are still missing the circular saw blade attachment. Anyone have it???

Resurrecting this thread. Does anyone have the circular saw attachment to the weed whacker?
Matthew, if you still have the power unit, do you also have the gas can? I found some replacement line for the string trimmer head.

The weed whacker is at David Bodner's house so he can sharpen the blade.

Any 2-stroke specialists?
I've noticed lately the whacker doesn't like to run for more than a couple of minutes. Recently while trying to re-start it, I broke the starter rope. Fortunately, through the magic of the internet, I was able to install a new rope. It then ran nicely for a couple of minutes, then, again, died. What would cause the motor to die when hot?
The original spark plug is gapped properly. It looks like it's burning rich, but maybe that's just how 2-stroke plugs look.
I half-assed cleaned and re-oiled the air filter (I could probably just buy a new one). The gas/oil mix is probably old (how do you get rid of the old stuff easily while retaining your conscience?)
I started looking at the carb, but frankly didn't feel up it. I wasn't recognizing much of anything and was afraid of just making things worse.

Re: Where is the club weed whacker?
Sounds to me like you need to go up one on the spark plug (hotter plug, has a higher heat rating) This is commonly done with small 2 stroke engines, remove the spark plug and take it to a auto parts store and ask for the next hotter plug or higher heat rating plug from the one that you have been using. should help, the carb sounds fine since it runs ok for awhile, they are very simple with little adjustment just make sure its clean. Re: Where is the club weed whacker?
I have two gas powered weed whacked the club can have. One has a brush blade add-on. Caveat. They are hard to start.
I had to take them to the local small engine repair guy at the start of every season. I suspect it's the ethanol in the gas. Carburetors are ruined by this stuff unless you're religious about adding ethanol treatment (like SeaFoam).
