Woodstock Renovation Update

Post by PTerry »

Dear CHGPA Members –

Woodstock Hang Gliding Launch Renovation Update

Progress Report: Currently the US Forest Service is in the process of reviewing the CHGPA Site Renovation Proposal. The USFS Lee Office Director, Forest Director, and Outdoor Recreation Director all have approved the project as outlined but now it must go through the main USFS office for environmental review.

The process entails a site survey and impact review of the proposed construction. The CHGPA proposal included tree removal, building a new grass covered launch area for paragliders, and a stone ramp area for hang gliders. We expect this to take some time and that we will hear back from the USFS with authorization to proceed with the project by the end of the flying season.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly.

Sincerely,
Pat
